Thanksgiving Menu!
Creole Roast Turkey
· 1 turkey (14 to 16 pounds)
· 1 cup butter, softened
· 3 tablespoons Creole seasoning -Like Slap Ya Mamma Cajun Seasoning
· 2 table spoon Black Pepper
· 1 tablespoon sage
· Whole cloves of garlic and
· 1 quartered onion
· ½ cup chopped celery
· 1 apple quartered
· 1 pear quartered
Directions
· Preheat oven to 400°. Season turkey cavity with 1 tbsp. of the sage and 1 tablespoon of creole seasoning/Slap Ya Mamma seasoning and 1 tablespoon of black pepper to taste. Next sprinkle whole body of turkey with the rest of the creole seasoning and black pepper. Next placed quartered onion, apple, pear and celery along with garlic cloves into turkey cavity. Tuck wings under turkey; (or place aluminum foil over each turkey wing tip. Next, tie drumsticks together. Place on a rack in a shallow roasting pan, breast side up. In a small bowl, beat butter and Creole seasoning; rub over turkey. Roast, uncovered, 20 minutes.
