Finding My Voice Again Through Writing

Dear Medium. Facebook Family, Friends, and Fans,

As 2024 draws to a close, I’m excited to share that Book II of The Deceiver’s Secret: The Deceiver’s Fall is finished and scheduled for release in early 2025. And that’s not all — I’m also nearing the end of Book 4 of the Lovers’ Players Seducer Series, which I plan to release later that same year.

I say this with so much joy because I’m finally writing again. Writing has always been a part of my life — a refuge, a passion, and a way to make sense of the world. But for a time, I lost my way, caught in the shadow of something dark and consuming. Now, I’ve cleaned house. I let go of someone who taught me the true meaning of the word narcissist. And most importantly, I survived them. The narcissist has been out of my life for a full year, with no contact except at court.

If you’ve ever dealt with someone like that, you’ll understand the truth in this:
“The most painful thing about being with a narcissist is realizing that the person you thought you loved or knew never actually existed.”

That quote hit me like a lightning bolt because it was my reality. A narcissist isn’t just someone toxic; they’re a master of illusions, a hollow shell pretending to be human. They wear masks so convincing that you fall for a person who was never real. The grief comes not from losing them but from realizing they never truly existed in the first place.

But here’s the thing: I survived.

I survived the lies, the manipulation, and the heartbreak. And I came out stronger, wiser, and ready to reclaim my life. My writing became my therapy, my way back to myself.

And so, I wrote this poem as a reminder to myself and to anyone who has walked this path:

“Even human walking
Is not always truly human.
Beware the masks they wear.
Be watchful, be safe,
For the brightest smiles
Often hide the darkest souls.”

To anyone out there feeling lost or trapped in a similar situation, know this — you will survive. You’ll rebuild, you’ll heal, and you’ll thrive. You are stronger than you know.

Thank you all for your unwavering support. Your encouragement inspires me to keep creating and sharing stories that resonate. Stay safe, be watchful, and always trust your instincts.

Here’s to 2025 — new beginnings, new books, and a life lived authentically.

With gratitude and love,

P.S. Thank you to my Sisters by our Mother, Kay, Sheila, and Marie. And thank you to my Sister by another Mother, Ms. Brenda. You are all the Wind Beneath My Wings!

The Deceiver Falls!

In this life, many creatures walk the earth,

Some are human, as God made at birth,

Some rare souls, beautiful and true,

But among us are monsters, hidden from view.

In human form, they roam around,

Yet their hearts and names by scorn are bound.

They bear the mark of the narcissist’s creed,

Living by guile, deceiving in deed.

Though they mask themselves with charm and grace,

Beware the deception behind each face.

For when that mask slips, and they show their core,

You’ll see a frown, more sad than before.

So don’t take pity; trust them not,

For they’ll snatch what you cherish, leaving you distraught.

Guard your boundaries, stand strong and free,

Don’t let them weaponize your vulnerability.

Take care not to cry, nor let them make you blue,

For a narcissist’s mask hides a truth askew.

And remember this — though deceivers may thrive,

The weight of their lies won’t let them survive.
